Anyone heard yet the Viv Audio Rigid Float tonearm?

Did you had a read at all the characteristics and reasons for the design?

Yes but I have to read it once more. I didn't understand the purpose of the rotating headshell.

It allows for correction, making it tangential alike without the downsides of tangential systems.
And it has no overhang.

That wasn't totally clear because it was mentioned in the text one has to secure that the shell isn't loose.

Then, in the main bearing has been carefully avoided a ball or knife bearing. But only to be reintroduced in a headshell? A rattling ball bearing next to the cartridge??? Seems not good to me.

Viv audio makes simply a straight arm with the claim that a tracking angle error caused by this design is sonically much better than all problems with the antiskating issue.

This is revolutionary - if it works! Some report of a much clearer sound with more dynamics and less distortion, only Michael Fremer was not so enthusiastic, but that has nothing to say.

Yes, that's the same basic principle of the RS-A1, but with other added benefits. A AAP forum member has two of them, and he states that the RS-A1 is really something special. And in a direct comparison,  it blowed an SME V away.

1000 $ war der Preis. Soweit ich weiß gibt es ihn aber nicht mehr.
Einer aus dem AAA hat ihn wieder verkauft wegen der Bedienung.

Well, I've spent the day with him in my system yesterday so ...

It's not a revolution !, and it's not also simply hype ... so, we can say that is an interesting tonearm, that deserves attention, careful installation and a pinpoint choice of cartridges for him, ... MC of course !!!
